Thanks Terry and Carl, just doing what I can to help.

Communication during the tournaments
One of the interesting aspects of the Club Fish-off is that the members within each club in the Fish-off are encouraged to communicate with the other anglers/boats within their club, most likely using texts, to give each other information about what is working and what is not, so their club will do better in the tournament against the other clubs.

This presents an issue for our WBC Team Tournament anglers because we will have some WBC members participating in our WBC Team Tournament that are not part of the Club Fish-off.  The WBC anglers in the Club Fish-off will be texting each other with information about what is working and what is not, but the WBC guys participating in the WBC Team Tournament will not be a part of those texts.  Kind of unfair for the WBC Team Tournament guys to not have the same information as the WBC Club Fish-off guys.

So to try and make this more fair from our WBC Team Tournament anglers perspective, and to not make it unfair to the other clubs in the Club Fish-off, our WBC Team Tournament anglers will be able to receive the texts from the WBC Club Fish-off participants, be a part of their texting group, but our WBC Team Tournament anglers will not be able to send texts to the WBC Club Fish-off anglers/teams.

We are doing it this way to prevent our WBC Team Tournament anglers from giving any information to the WBC Club Fish-off guys, being in effect an extension of the 5 teams we have put together for the Club Fish-off, which would give our club an unfair advantage in the Club Fish-off.

We don't want our WBC Team Tournament guys giving any information to the WBC Club Fish-off guys.

The WBC Team Tournament guys can receive the WBC Club Fish-off group texts but they cannot send the WBC Club Fish-off guys texts.

I hope you guys understand why we are doing this.  This all comes up because we are trying to run two tournaments with different rules at the same time.  Just trying to make it as fair as possible to all tournament participants.  I think at this point the only WBC anglers this applies to are Don Hankinson and Jim Owens.  I  spoke with Don today and he understood what we are doing and why we are doing it this way.

If anyone has questions please ask here or ask me at signups on Saturday morning at 6 AM.

Per PJ Koshi's recent text:

We are going for tomorrow and if it's too bad to launch we will try to decide when to reschedule.

If the weather allows for launch, I will be there on Saturday by myself and with Trey on Sunday.  No worries about the text.  I am not interested in being on a text group.

always fun fishing in the rain Smiley

Mark,

So you'll just be fishing the WBC team tournament and not in the Club Fish-off.  Just want to make sure.  Please confirm.
