Made reservations at Taidnapam today. We got the last site available, my wife will fishing as my back seater for this one. No need to worry about the Pierce County Bass Anglers as the majority of the active tourney fishing members are now Western Bass Club members, ain't that right Troy.

I wrote Tacoma Power an email about Riffe lake water levels and boat launch information, here is their response.

Thanks for asking about Riffe Lake.

I'm happy to report that these boat launches are useable: Mossyrock Park launch, North Taidnapam launch and Taidnapam Park launch.

The current level of Riffe Lake is 764 feet of elevation. Full pool is at 778 feet.

I guess the lack of camping spots pretty much means I'll not be fishing this Tournament either. This will give me a chance to get the trolloing motor fixed before the Jack'n'Jill - looks like I need a new main power board. I did find a great resource for that at

John Jones is a very nice guy and we have spoken on the phone a couple of times. He is very helpful and his parts prices seem very competitive. The price he quoted me was $64.00 plus $8.00 standard shipping, other quotes were over $100.

Tent only sites=No power=Dead batteries!   

We can make it work for those who get tent sites without power. All you gotta do is get there.

Joel, trolling batteries are not required on Riffe, drift socks are.  Works like this, start up main motor, take waves over front deck, head straight into the wind and watch graph. When depth is 60 feet, kill main motor, throw out wind sock, depth will now be 30 feet if your fast, cast out your weighted tube and enjoy the drift. When graph indicates shallow water, reel up tube bait, pull in drift sock. Repeat as required to catch a limit.  

Anybody know what time we are launching on Saturday and what ramp we are using?
