Chris, if you're talking about the Chatillon spring scale than I got mine at Cabelas for about 60 bucks.  I was greeter for a couple of years and they were the only scales that were accurate from year to year without fail.  I got mine 'cause Brian showed me his and I had to have one.

Hey Brian, is Terry talking about the same scale?  I looked it up, and it looks like it is.  Which model should I get 0-10 lb ?  Looks like they are in 4 oz increments or am I wrong?  Thanks

Here's a link to the right one.
http://www.itinscales.com/chfish.htm#in

From here it is the IN-12 model.  They list it for 66 bucks.  It appears Cabelas and BPS don't carry them anymore.

Note, they are not accurate when you get them.  You have to use the club weights and set the dial.  Once you do, put something on the threads like an epoxy so it won't move.  I've had mine for over 5 years and it has never been off an ounce.  Same with Weedwalkers.  His looks like it's from WWII and it is still accurate. Grin

The only other thing that is helpful is sharpening the hook.

I might suggest also that you opt. to get the case for it, I didn't and it shows, but most of the looks came from using it alot!  8)  Another thing that I've found helpful is a single fish weight bag put out by bag-em products. you can find them at bag-em.com. Smiley  (It keeps the fish from flopping around.)

I saw you with the bag that one time on Lk. Wash and thought that was a good idea.  Not only does it stop the fish from flopping, but I hate hooking the fish with the hook.  I don't want to stress them out even more.

I found these same bags at the Outdoor Emporium in Seattle, for $9.19.
