Jerrie and I were out on American Lake today from 8am when the parking lot opened to 4 pm.
   This is about the 5th time on that lake but our first in the day time. Todays trip and the previous 4 resulted in
   0 0 0 0 0 FISH - NO  BITES EITHER - !!!     ???  ???
     WE threw a variety of different things...we never even got any kind of SLIMER to bite!! 
   Where were the darn FISH and what did they want ??
   I don't believe this lake has any living fish of any kind!
What a day...fighting the wind and the wakes from the WATER SKIING BOATS  !!!
    I challenge this LAKE and any one to prove it has any fish at all! 

My recollection is that Terry Stephenson once turned in a pretty good Greenslip fish caught out of American Lake. Seems to me like it was a Smallmouth over 4. Could be wrong, but maybe somebody will nudge Terry into  posting.

Well everyone...  Went out to Black Lake Saturday morning around 9:00 or so.  Only caught one fish all day long, but I'll tell ya what, it was a doozy!  By far the biggest I have every caught, 9.4 pound large mouth.  I caught her first thing in the morning with a jig 'n pig in about 4 feet of water.  Normally, I wouldn't be too happy about only catching one fish all day long, but how can you be upset about that.  It had me smiling in disbelief for the rest of the day.

As a veteran, (ok OLD) member of this club, either there are more fish than ever before, or we are just dang good anglers.  I prefer the latter.  What a HOG!!!  Where is the discussion on the ensuing battle??  I see a jig and pig, but I want to hear about what you thought the first time you saw the fish come to the surface.  Give me the juicy details!!!!
