Its Final!!

Hey Western....just talked with Bruce Baker at WDF&W and we have our tournaments set in stone......No conflicts this year so we will not have to go to Skagit County to compete this year for our dates....Here they are for this year 2005:

April 23rd-24th....Silver Lake, Draw Tourney

May 21st-22nd....Potholes Reser. Points #1
May 28th-30th.....Banks Lake Jamborree.

June 25th-26th...Riffe Lake, Points #2

July 30th -31st Lake Roosevelt, Jack-n-Jill.

August 27th-28th...Lake Chelan, Points #3

September 24th-25th... Tri Cities-Wallula, Points #4.

October 1st-2nd...Lake Sammamish, Team Tourney.

If needed we might be able to change date of teamer due to a lag of only one week and no pre-fish like this season but other clubs have middle dates locked.

I have to say I am excited to see how this will play out as we have an old favorite ; Potholes in Spring!....a Toughie; Riffe and a new one (For Me!)....Chelan.

WHHHHHHHOOOOOOOOOOHHHHHHOOOOOOOO!!!

I think the teamer date is fine. Sammamish should be a decently familiar lake with most of us, and it's not too big. If we wait till after the other club's "T's", the fishing might be a lot tougher. I am pretty pumped about this year's selection's also. Good Job Larry in nailing everything down. I'm sure it too quite a bit of work to accomplish.

All looks swell...my only concern and should be heard is the August date at Chelan.  The family and I spent a week there last summer in mid-August, and to say that this lake is crowded is an understatement.  Blue haze on the water from all the two-stroke oil.  Be concerned about where we will be staying as most campgrounds/resorts fill up very fast and summer rates will be in full force.  It cost us about 36 bucks per night at the City campground, plus extra for moorage, plus extra for boat power to charge batteries, plus extra if you looked too long at the moorage help, plus extra if you snagged up, plus extra if you request diet over regular, plus extra if you used line size over 8lb test, plus extra if you need more than two bags of ice, you get the drift.  Great lake to fish, but TONS of people, and difficult to manage a weigh-in this time of the year.  Every darn 206'er and their uncle's cousin's buddies are there, with no clue about edicate(sp) on the water.  I would suggest using the Manson ramp, right across from the Mill Bay Casino as the lauch site.  A bit farther up the lake, still crowded all day, but much less so than anything near Chelan.  Either way, be prepared to have your full wallet stripped when this is over.

Just so you know, I really appreciate your work Larry.  You have a very fulfilling, yet difficult task as TD and the club is so lucky to have you.  I mean that, ALOT.

BTW, will the sucking up maybe help at the scales, perhaps rounding UP!!!

My concerns as well.  But, I wasn't able to make it to the meeting where the vote was held (was in L.A. on business), so I couldn't voice them.   Undecided

Don't most of the lakes have the same problem that time of year? I know campsites do.

Alls I have to say is my hopes of angler of the year may be out of the question since I probably won't Chelan. And I already know I can't fish potholes. Due to the Junior Classic stuff. But o well maybe in a couple more years.

Larry,
as i posted in a prior report camping is completely free in the parking lot of the mill bay casino. that is why i suggested you guys have a tourny over there. catching fish wont be a problem, even with all the pwc's. the best part about camping in the parking lot of the casino, is that its right accross the street from the launch.

Larry,

From what I've heard as long as you use there facilities (stores, dining etc.) they don't mind. My co-woker has stayed there in the past few years and he said, there are RV's all over the place w/boats. He also said, there isn't anyone coming around checking either and it's pretty layed back. NO POWER.
I'am going to get a reservation at the State Park. I get it for free. You can also call them and reserve spaces. They will start taking them 9 mos. out. I already tried but I have to wait until nov. 26th to reserve.

Larry,
Daryl is pretty accurate. Although I believe they do want you to use there facilities, they never go around and check. There is no hookups, but its still free......
