Of all the members in this club, past and present, not one has made a greater, more positive impact on this club than Larry Gonczy. Nearly 25 years of dedication and hard work for this club. Nobody comes close to that.
I'm sure Larry has rejoined his friends and former WBC members Roy Sabin, Norm Owley, and especially his old buddy, Dick McElhinney.
Larry is best remembered by his genuinely kind demeanor and sense of humor. He was always happy to lend a hand and was the least offensive person you'd ever meet. You would never see him in a bad mood. It makes you wonder why the good ones leave us so early.
I can't even begin to tell you how saddened I am about this, and how terrible I feel for Bernie, Lucas, and Brianna. Larry will be missed by all of us.
A Fisherman’s PrayerGod grant that I may fish
Until my dying day…
And when it comes to my last cast,
I then most humbly pray,
When in the Lord’s safe landing net,
I’m peacefully asleep, that in his mercy
I may be judged good enough to keep.
