Not true.  AT&T and T-Mobile have agreed to a merge, but it hasn't been approved by the feds.  So nobody owns anyone at this point.  It will be about a year before it happens, if at all.

I ported over my old cell number I have had that number for 15yrs or more  Shocked
I almost went to T-mobile & I might still switch to them later as I have found out that T-mobile to T-mobile calls are free AT&T does this but not for PPM phones.
Who knows what will happen as AT&T has bought T-mobile

Its a done deal Went with AT&T Pay per minute plan. PPM plan better fit for me as I don't text & only use it about 60min a month.

John,

I can give somewhat contrary input to the others above. AT&T is probably fine for the Eastern WA locales people have mentioned above, but I mainly use my Verizon phone in rural areas (all parts of Washington, and now Alaska), and if you are interested in the best rural coverage, Verizon beats everyone easily. I've been standing next to people multiple times with T-Mobile and AT&T and had much better coverage countless times. That includes not just call reception, but the ability to pick up voicemails. Verizon may not be the best in other regards (customer service/price), but they are far and away the best for reception.

I can also add that my Verizon works wherever I go here on "The Dry Side". Smiley

I switched to AT&T a couple of years ago specifically because I was having trouble with my phone reception in EWa  back then and everyone who was NOT having a problem had AT&T.  Have had no problems since.
