I actually bought one last year. I think it will work really well, the problem I had was that one of my bilge pumps is mounted directly inline with the drain plug hole so it would not allow a straight run of the cable. In simulated tests it performed well, locking and unlocking fairly easily although I would have preferred some texturing on the knob which can get slippery. As long as I can find the small cable clip, I will be selling this item (removed from packaging, but never installed) for $14.

Hey I don't want to know whats coming out of your drain hole LOL pine cones I think you need to watch the video on how it works Its just like the drain plug you have now but if you forget to put it in & the boats in the water you can get the plug in with out taking the boat out of the water This may not be a problem for you I had forgot mine one time & was able to reach it but some Ranger boats you can not get to it when the boats in the water.

that looks like a good idea but what if it got clogged with something? I've seen everything from plastic grubs to small pine cones come out of my drain hole. I wouldn't put one on my boat.
