Hey Smitty! Long is definitley one of my favs. Fall is great on that lake, but I think my fav is June/July. There are some real pigs in that lake and I swear its virtually untouched. I rarely ever see other bass fishing boats.
I never need a reason or any arm twisting to go there!!

Good report Mike. I hope to get back to Long lake this fall after I retire at the end of this month. That lake has always intrigued me for several reasons. I think the fall bite could be reat.

FYI,
I had the opportunity to fish Long Lake last week and thought I'd pass a little info. The 2 main public launches ( New Riverside Park and DNR) are closed until May 15th. Both had posted signs they would not be open until May 15 and Close Sept 15th. Forshees has been closed for a couple years and the old Little Spokane River launch is too hairy for me (mostly my prop) to try. I was able to launch at the Private Willow Bay Resort - for $15!!!!! ouch!!
Fishing was good - not quite quite great yet. Main lake was 48-49 and the small bays were 51-53 degrees. Mananged to catch several smallies ( a ton of Squawfish) and 2 LMB. Smallies are starting come up on flats and LMBs are still a little skiddish.
