Hey Tucknmusic I used cutting boards on the handle side also I just drilled holes the same size as the handles I used shock cords to keep them in place when it gets rough The good news is all my upgrades worked at the fish in nothing blew out of my drink holders even.

Duck Tape is like the Force it has a light side & a dark side & it binds everything in the universe!!!

Very nice, I did not even notice that the dash was replaced until you mentioned it.  I could tell from the pics that the rod holders had the golf tubes in the front but what holds the rod handles, I could not tell from the pic.

Makes me wonder why most of my upgrades involve duck tape? - Jon

I fished one more upgrade I flush mounted my depth finder I also moved the trim tilt switch because the cable for the trolling motor kept hitting it. Added a power outlet too. I did not use the old plastic dash that was cracking instead I used aluminum as luck would have it I found it with that wood grain finish on it so it worked out great. I must say this was no walk in the park it was a pain in the A!@# To shape the metal to all the crazy angles & make all the cut outs.

I'll get a picture, but what I use for a caddy is one of those kitchen sized lazy-susans..... I unscrewed and removed the base and roller bearings, cut a hole in the bottom and now have about 8-10 compartments that will hold almost anything, except canned drinks. I regularly put crankbaits there, hanging them by the tail hook, packs of hooks, weights and baits for whatever I'm currently using, and several sets of pliers and stuff.

They're about $35 although I'm sure they can be found for less. Even in rough water, I've yet to lose anything out of it.

REV I have a Honda & Acura Repair shop for about 16yrs now. Last few years I have added most other makes of Japanese cars but Honda is what was trained in at the dealership.
Sadly my other 20rods will have to stay behind we all have to make sacrifices  Cry

Nice job!  Hey, when you say "shop" - what kind is it?  I've forgotten what you do...

By the way, those 12 rod holders - what do you do with the other 20 rods?   Smiley

The caddy will fit any boat most seats have a 1 1/2 post or 1 3/4 if its an adjustable post I made it so it can fit both so if I upgrade later. Cost me about $20 parts & a few hrs to build If you guys want one just PM me.
I have seen the deals Chris but I am trying not to spend $$ right now because the shop is so slow.

My next upgrade was a tool caddy with drink holder I have bought couple of these thru the years & they never had enough space or were to bulky The ones I did buy broke with in one year. This is what I came up with.

Well my shop has been slow so I have had time to do so upgrades to the boat. I built some rod organizes using cutting boards & golf tubes No more tangled up rods for me. I made them for both sides so total of 12 rods Also was able to make a slot for the light bars. More upgrades to come.
