Well I gave it another shot today with better results. Caught 1 around 2 to 2 1/4lbs, lost one and missed a bite. I didn't have any of the 5 listed problems today so overall it was a good afternoon.

Stahlman, I did that once on Potholes. I thought I had messed something up in my lower unit cause I kept hearing a "Clunk" sound. It turned out it was the stainless steel prop Shaving chunks off my aluminum transom saver!!

Mike I can't help myself and I know you would do the same for me.
Mike's check list
#1 lift trolling motor before putting boat on trailer
#2 remove transom saver when launching boat
#3 ?

Oh I forgot to tell you that I also left my transom saver on the motor when I launched the boat. I tell ya sometimes I shouldn't be allowed to leave the house.
Didn't realize it until I got back and put my boat on the trailer. Thought I had spun a prop.

Tried it today with little luck. Actually no luck. I don't count the 3-4lb trout I caught as a fish. Water temp was 44.4. I also got real cold fingers:)
