Just remember, when a manufacturer goes out of business, you won't get any future service or replacement warranty, etc...

Hi, bassin9.

Unfortunately, OrDella is closing up shop. You might be able to get a good deal or two before they do, though.

Would like to know if there will be any ordella prostaff members at club meeting, and if so I would really like to take a look at some rods. I have 2 new baitcast reels with nothing to put them on.

My wife wants me to stop buying fishing gear but I have to know what it is I will be wanting for christmas & my birthday. She says that they will not know what to get me later if I but it all right know, but I want to make sure I get what will best suit me later. I sure do want to take a look at  the ordella line to see what they have to offer.

Thomas,OrDella rods can be found under that name on the internet. They want to put a top quality rod in your hand at better price. They come with a life time warranty on corks and guides. One year on rod blank. The nice thing is you dont have to pay for the warranty! If you want history the company is fairly new.The gentlman doing the specs has been around a long time.Infact he helped design the original GL2 .He knows quality ! They have the same number system as Loomis. So if you look them up and see a number like 842 your looking at a 7ft in a 2 power. If it says 783 it would be a 6ft 6inch 3 power. If go stealheading most likly it would be 4 numbers first 3 length in inches 4th would be the power rating. For myself I know they have helped make me a better fisherman! If you or anyone else are interested you can use this courtesy# 1012 and recieve 10% off a purchase! I have several of there rods and your welcome to check them out.Keep in mind they are custom rods you can make changes or even have one built to your liking.

Buy Whatever rod suites you is best. For a crankin rod I prefer a rod with a soft fiberglass tip with a sturdy backbone. Ask anyone in the club what they fish and i am sure they would let you try out their crankin rods.

St. Croix has a sweet fiberglass crankbait rod. (PGC66MMF for the 6'6" and PGC70MMF for the 7')

For the tube rod, the two top series rods are the Legend and the Elite series. You can get a 6'8" or a 7' in either model.

Russ,

Loomis rods are made in Woodland, along with Lamiglas rods.  Even though Shimano owns Loomis I have had Shimano rods that were made in Woodland.

Good to hear you made it Thomas...sorry I did'nt as I love the Skills Challenge! Maybe we will try it in November. No trees fell in the yard this storm but alot of branches and on neighboring lines. had no power for just over 5 hours so not bad!
Dont forget about the Fish-in on the 10th of Nov.! Hope to see ya'll there!

Yeah Larry, wasn't sure if the club was going to have a meeting, but since the location is about 10 minutes from my house I figured I would check it out. Glad to hear there was no major damage around your place, just had alot of leaves  and branches at mine. I'll be sure to make the fish-in on the 10th.

Thomas,

Ordella has both of those covered. The tube rod is a ISJ 783 and the cranking rod I recommend is a custom fiberglass that Ordella makes that is awesome. Some of the guys in the club can tell you how much they like it. E-mail me your number so I can call you later in the week to discuss a trial.
Russ

Will do Russ, thanks for the help.

Bassin9,

There is 4-5 Ordella Pro Staff guys including myself in WBC. The rods are very similiar to Loomis but at a 30-40% discount. The rods are made in Vancouver unlike Loomis in Japan since they are owned by shimano-Maybe Smitty can correct me on this one.

I own several Ordella rods. What specific application rod are you looking for and maybe I can get you a demo rod.

Russ

Yeah Russ, Fisrt, not sure what a pro staffer is but clue me in please. Second, I have a loomis crankbait and spinnerbait rod that I am very happy with but I've been thinking about getting another crankbait and tube rod. I have 2 loomis poles in mind but would really like to try an ordella. Right now, I use a basspro rod to dropshot with which I am happy with but since my wife is going to be fishing with me next year, I thought it might be a good idea to look into some more gear. Any help you can give me would be greatly appreciated.
