I worked the Sportsmans Show at Monroe this past weekend. During the show I had the pleasure of talking with an old friend, Bob Stiener of Wennatche (sp),and a member of the Central Washington Bassmasters. This is the club that hosts both the Old Farts "T" in August and the Potholes Open in April. Bob told me on Friday that there were still a few spots left in the open. So Glenn, if you want to put an even larger trophy on your wall than before, there still might be a chance. On the other hand, since you have already made that hurdle, what's the challenge? I think I would rest on my luarels until a larger challenge presented itself.

POP A TOP...there goes another beer...Rich
Glad I got a ringside seat. You get that scent splashed on you as the fighters slug it out.

Ah, you forget - I took big fish at that tournament. And that fish was bigger than your trophy too!
....matter of fact, now that I look at it on the wall, even trophy is bigger.

So are you going to provide contact info, or keep it a secret?
P.S. My bass is bigger than your trophy!

Glen,
Actually there are several of us who fish it from the club-Ron Hankinson,Kirk Holmes, Myself,Jim Ruman, Mark Wells to name a few. Yes its tough to get in but worth the effort.
It would be cool to see Western put on a tourney like this. Russ

Ok.... so.... why did you start this post in the first place if nobody in our club can participate? Did I miss something here?
Posted by: RussBaker - Ex Member Posted on: 02/25/05 at 23:18:09
Glen,
Your question is answered as a "NO". The Open is an invite tourney only. However, having said that on most occasions you can get your name in the hat by contacting the people who run this event. I have given the names out to some people in this club, but unfortunately it didn't help. The event fills up in two days. So unfortunately most people who haven't fished this event in the past cannot get in unless they know someone from that club. Russ

Tangent airlines, now departing...
Back to the original subject. Is there a website that explains the potholes open? Rules, registration, etc?
