Don't forget to drop the rod back every once and a while.  I've watched those smallies on the camera follow a bait for hundreds of yards before turning off.  But if you drop the bait back into it's face, it can't help but hit it!  You can also pull it away too - it really doesn't matter as long as it changes up the pace!

Okay,
I think I have it  Cheesy
- tip reserved for only those who practice catch and release -

main line to 3-way swivel,
4' of lighter line to 1oz plus weight to 3-way,
6' leader to crank of choice (jointed rapala) to 3-way.

ease the rig down to bottom, troll at speed to impart desired action to crank bait, let weight stay near or at bottom - Hang on !

(thanks Rich!)

Hello,

How does one rig one up?

From the previous posts, it seems a jointed rapala (floater) and a 3-way swivel (line, bait and a large sinker???)

Is this kinda like a walleye bottom dragger with a crankbait?
???
