thanks guys.
That sounds even cheeper Grin Cheesy
I love to save money and i miss tying on a square knot like i used to as a kid fishing.  It brings back alot of old memories about my hook poping off when i hooked a bass instead of a bluegill. Kiss

Me too. Just the plain round split shot at walmart, overhand knot at the bottom of your line, squeez it on finger tight...probable less than .05.
You know me when it comes to cheap? I won't even buy long pants Shocked

Hey Dave,
I'll do you one better.  Since the day I started drop-shotting, I've used a size 1 G-lock(or equivalant) and a simple bass casting sinker tied on with a loose square knot.  The whole rig cost a tenth as much and when the weight gets snagged, the square knot pops, and you dont even lose any leader.  The weights are $.79 for an 8 pack instead of a buck a piece.  You can get the same sizes as dropshot weights and the cost goes way down.  Besides, the fish dont care how that little meal got to the bottom, but it did.  SET THE HOOK!!!!!  RON

I found a net little idea mojo has on a dropshot on the web.

The website for mojo dropshotting is

http://www.mojolures.com/info_howto.php

They have a wire that goes thru the weight and the wire is adjustable up and down the line to change your depth of fishing.  If you get snagged the weight just slides off the wires.  I dont see why you cant use any cheap weight with a thru hole. and if a guy is a little creative he might be able to make his own wire too. Wink

I havent bought any yet.  If anyone has used them please let me know how they work and if you got them locally.

Hope this will save us dropshotters a few bucks ;especially if your buying real dropshot weights.

Dave
