When: Saturday, March 5th
Where: Silver Lake, Cowlitz County  - Public Launch

Directions:    Take I-5 south;  Take Exit 49 (Spirit Lake HWY 504) ;  Take  left off exit and go back over I-5 (Should pass a Burger King);  Stay straight for Approximately 8-9 miles (Past the Silver Lake Motel & Resort);   Public launch is on the right hand side.

Brenda, down I-5 about 1 1/2 hours from Tacoma, I think. (This post previously said 2 1/2 hours, but I changed it after Sarge said it was actually 1 1/2. I mention this because Sarge is not crazy.)  Grin

If it is a speed limit drive, it should only be about 1.5 hours from Tacoma, Stu. Longer for a boat tower... but I believe the distance to Silver Lake from Tacoma is about 90 miles.

I usually find them at the end of streams and at the beginning of other streams. Grin  Ok, I found an opening and thought I'd take it. Roll Eyes

I'm working my schedule so I will hopefully be able to make the Silver Lake fish-in.  Sounds like a good place to catch the big one. Smiley

Stu,

Your edit makes me look senile!!! LOL.  Grin

You did have 2 1/2 hour drive beforehand, right? Don't really care, just doing a sanity check.

I told Stu 2 1/2 hours, but thats more accurate for a boat owner from the Lake Washington Kent/Renton area. Plus I have to say a little longer to get people there early......I made it 0630 without a scheduled breakfast, but people can get together somewhere if they know a spot. I didn't want to make breakfast too early due to the longer drive.

If you want a great spot to eat, Spiffy's is a great choice, good food, good coffee great prices and right off across the freeway where highway 12 crosses I-5. Cheesy As far as what to throw, lizards, creature baits, jigs and a spinnerbait or two.... Roll Eyes Brian (The Weedwalker)

Ok that sounds good. I figured some might be leaving there house at 4:30 to get to the launch by 6:30. But if you want breakfast, sounds like Spiffy's is the place to be.

If you can't make the breakfast at Spiffy's (the spiffiest place in town), the gas station off the Silver Lake exit (Shell?)  has some awesome mystery meat taquito/crisp burrito/weird tortilla things that really hit the spot at 6am.

Who wants to put me in the back of their boat??? Down wind, of course  Wink
