Was it just me or was it just boring this year?

I watched a lot of it each day live streaming and thought it was pretty interesting.  The lead changed several times, Ike was leading for a bit until he had trolling motor problems and an emotional meltdown.  Brandon Palanik was even in the lead for a bit and ended up second.  He's kind of an almost local so that was pretty cool and the fact that he is so young to finish ahead of like 6  other past classic winners including KVD.

It wasn't explosive but I didn't think it was boring.  I think they would do better if it was held after the spawn in early summer.

I too watched the live streams on the internet, that was interesting.  The tv broadcast was boring and I feel they cut out some of the best at the weigh-in.  Have to agree that watching them "deadstick" jigs and jerk baits does not make for exciting TV.

I think the spectator boats are getting out of hand.  If the Classic came to WA, I would be at the weigh-in every single day, but I doubt I'd be out there burning my own gas to watch from 80 yards away *decent distance IMO*  Just watched Day 3 tonight and when they get into a cove the camera boats and spectators were way too close.

Every year it has gotten worse.....just a matter of time before something snaps or police boats or marshall boats will have to escort and buffer anglers.

Have to say it was dull this year.  Every single person I spoke to at the Classic, both anglers and industry folks, all questioned why they're having the Classic so early in the year.  I mean, really, 19 degrees at blast off?  Really?  I rode with Gerald Swindle a few years ago, and quite frankly, I don't remember the first 2 hours because I was thawing out after a 25 minute, 70 mph run in 29 degree temps!  OY!  You just HURT after a run like that!

And this year's Classic just underscores that. It was quite boring.  The tackle show was more exciting, and it was awkwardly spread out amongst 4 convention halls.  But it was alive and buzzing with activity.

To top it off, Cliff Pace won.  While some celebrate his calm, cool, demeaner, most folks see him as....dull.  Not exactly Mr. Charisma as the sport's champion.  Undecided

I think I would fall asleep if I was on the same boat as Cliff Pace.
