Soft Bait

I'm new to fishing with plastic (soft baits) and I was curious what effects a plastic bait would have on a bass if it were ingested. Can they digest
soft baits or would it mean certain death. I know ones made by Foodsource are supposed to be completely digestible (mostly made of gelatin) but is that the case with all soft baits or can they be harmful?

The soft baits are fully digestive. Just put your baits in the water for a day & look what happens. Now a hook could pose a problem but I have caught bass with hooks coming out there butts & they are eating & doing fine.
