Hi gang,

Well my move back to Memphis so far has been more than I expected......This past weekend we suffered the worst flooding in over forty years and up in and around Nashville, it was even worst.  The tornado warnings started Friday evening and lasted all night and again on Saturday.....Then the rains started and I have to say I've never seen that much rain here in Memphis during my years growing up here.  My dads house did suffer some water damage as his front and back yards flooded and when I woke up to let my dogs out after uncovering from the previous nights tornado warnings I stepped onto soggy carpet and saw parts of his fence gone.  I proceeded to wake him up and get him prepared to move if necessary.  I went around the house toward the back and opened up a large double wooden gate and the water hit me at knee level almost knocking me down.....It was terrible.....Never did I see this much rain.....and there isn't a creek or river within 1o miles from the house....This was just neighborhood rain and run off........Needless to say I spent the rest of the day pushing water down the rear of the house off the patio and onto the front part of the roadway.....Then using the ole shop vac and getting rid of water inside his den and then providing propane heaters to dry out.......

All in all, we were very lucky and didn't suffer nearly as much.  Millington has the Naval Air Station which is about 15 minutes from my house and the entire base flooded.  Every building was damaged.....and like I'm sure many have seen....Poor Nashville.........Grand ole Opry, Opryland Hotel, Country Music Hall of Fame,  Tennessee Titans Football stadium.....all flooded...........It's really wiered watching aluminum bass boats go down the city streets.....

Well, it was definately not a welcome back I was hoping for.......But.....Bass Pro Shops is trying very hard to open up the Newest Mega Store in the Memphis Pyramid.......I'm a strong supporter.......I can't wait.....Take care and stay in touch....
