I had to do that by myself last year - a smallie coming into the boat went wild and drive a large crankbait treble deep into my hand, but I had no whiskey or friends to help.  I called my wife and told her I was about to pull it out and that if she didn't hear from me soon - I'd passed out.  Luckily I had studied the same method of pulling a hook out and when I got up the guts, I yanked - it came out nicely but hurt like ****.  I saw Elvis for a moment or two, but when the blood finally came back into my face, I felt better.  Beats going to the doctor!

The guy who invented that Idea is a genious. I had to do that twice last year due to smallies shaking the top water plugs out of there mouths while removing.
