Prioritize these lakes...

Question for you...

If you had to prioritize these lakes as to their value or reputation as "crankbait lakes", what order would you put them in?  That is, which appear better suited to cranks and which are least known for crankbait catches?

1) Banks
2) Silver Lake
3) Moses
4) Potholes
5) Lake Washington

So reorder them with the best crankbait lake (yes - includes topwaters) getting a 1) and the least getting a 5).  After I get some opinions, I'll tell you why I asked.

Bob can attest to why I put Potholes as my number one crankbait lake. I have caught more 5 + 6 lb smallies and largies up to 7 lbs in this lake on shallow diving cranks than I can count.

Good question!  But now it's too late...  Wink

I was asking because I was doing an article on re-evaluating those lakes that the majority of locals have deemed "not a crankbait lake".

John Sewell who lives on Silver Lake is one of the few anglers who fishes it regularly with crankbaits and does very well.  VERY WELL!

After you read the article you can see why he does so well.  It's not a definitive piece on Silver Lake - but as one or two of you have quietly discovered on your own (you sly dogs) that cranks can be dynamite on shallow basin lakes when you buck local assumptions.

Thanks for the input!

"sneaky, tight-lipped character...?"  As a g'ment employee, that is the kindest, warmest thing I have heard in months Cry.  GREAT job, Rev, your writing skills are engaging and informative. Wink  I finished reading wanting more from you.  When are you going to write a book about your life history with WBC?  I am sure it would be a terriffic read.

Acreage corrected - 2,996 acres according to WashingtonLakes.comc

As to "sneaky, tight lipped character" - as long as you have been in the club, I should have known you were holding out on us!

If I WERE to write about WBC and the people in it, they would force me to list it under "Fishing fiction" or put it right next to "Bigfoot" and the "UFO's" section of the book store.  No one would believe what goes on in this club!  And you, Mr Government Official, would get a whole chapter just to yourself!   Wink
