Bree and I went out this morning for a couple of hrs. looking for a smallie big enough to break the current IGFA 4lb. state record that currently stands at 2lb. 11oz.   I had seen 4 fish the day before that would probably do the trick and after Bree broke off the first one   we talk about what we should do different before going after the next one. After a half a dozen attempts of skipping her bait under a dock, a good cast was made followed by a hard hookset and  her line going sideways. I about fell out of the boat when the "exstremly aggrevated" toad of a smallmouth came compleatly out of the water! After a few hard runs and alot of head thrashing, I netted her smallie that ended up weighing 4lbs. 9oz. which breaks not only the state record but also the world record for the female 10yr. and under division!  http://s286.photobucket.com/albums/ll86/Weedwalker1/?action=view&current=kodak14...

Nice job Bree. I have not taken the time to post the one Rebecca got few weeks ago .I had located a bed & took becca out to see if we could get this large male Took us about 1hr & I had to help with the hook set ( got to work on her reaction time) Fish weighted 4.5lbs.
Bree got Rebecca beat this time  but there is still more time in the month.
