Thanks for asking Troy, but I blanked the third and final day. I was in 7th place after day one, 8th place after day two and blanked on day three.

I made some bad decisions by not fishing my water from the previous two days because of our time restrictions for the third day of fishing (3 1/2 hrs). After the first hour with no fish, I went into panic mode and just ran around trying different spots. I did catch a 16" largemouth and an 11" smallmouth but they were both to short.

So the moral of the story is, "stick with what got you there" no matter what the time restrict are.

Daryl,

I too have experienced the "panic mode" syndrome when something is on the line Grin.  I really like it when I'm fishing a Silver Lake Open and I have two fish knowing that I could be in the money, but then I feel it creep up on me.  I just start throwing everything at them and start fishing way too fast, the best part is I know I'm doing it but wont slow down.  Huh Embarrassed

By the way my measuring board is bent! Angry At least that's my excuse. You would think as a machinist I would know what 17" was. Grin

For those of you that do not know, fish can and will "shrink" while they are in the livewell. I was unaware of this but Henry and I learned a valuable lesson this weekend on the incredible shrinking Largemouth Grin

Another tip I learned from others is to use "Catch and Release". It's supposed to help calm them down.

Definetly seen the shrinking phenomenon on tv a few times.  I have rejuvenade that I've used before.  Not sure how well it works, but it turns the water a nice pretty blue color  Grin

Troy

I blew by Smitty during blast off threw some nasty waves. Smitty was driving like a girl. He tried to catch me but his skirt kept blowing up in his face.
