Cell Phone tragedy

Hey everyone, I apparently felt the need to clean my cell phone so I washed it in the washing machine.  As a result I no longer can use it.  I have a new one but i'm not able to transfer my phone list to it so if I am asking anyone that I have contacted in the past to IM me their phone numbers I would appreciate it.

Thanks  Doug

Doug,

I feel your pain I did that with my wallet about two months ago.

It took a week to dry everything out.

Which wash cycle and detergent do you recomend for cell phones?  Is fabric softner required?

I think it was the fabric softner that did me it.  It powers up but none of the buttons work.

So you didn't save the numbers to your SIM card?  DOH!

Lesson learned.

If you have T-Mobile, you can login to my.t-mobile.com and manage your "network address book" online, which eliminates the problem of moving your contact information from phone to phone.  Then again, it's easier just to save them to your SIM card.

You might want to try calling your provider. Sometimes they can retrieve your numbers for you, but not always.  Also, if you bought ringtones/wallpapers through them, they can move them over to your new phone so you won't have to buy them again.  Just a thought.

Set it in a bag of rice and let it sit in the sun for 3 weeks. It will get ALL the moisture out of it. I have done this a couple times (1 washer, 1 trailering old boat) It works....most if not all buttons should work.

I don't think my phone has a sim card.  Its a sanyo katana.  I'm through Qwest and they don't have much in customer service.  I tried all the myths rice, hairdryer, oven, etc... still nothing.
