Well ain't that something.  Looks like they will be blasting off before us.  Thats definetly not what we wanted to hear.  Its not even listed on the WDFW tourny list.     Huh

Wishful Sponsors: BassCat Boats, Mercury Marine, Tackle Warehouse, Chevy Trucks, Chevron Gas, G-Loomis Rods, Shimano Reels.

Daryl,

You will probably see an additional 30 -50 boats.

Just sent an E-Mail to Bruce Baker to see whats up.......might start thinking about a new date.....I personnally will not be there if there is 50-60 other boats, maybe another club with 10 or so but Chelan fishes so small it will be tough   Sad

Seems like we would have first right to that date seen it wasn't posted and we were the only club with that date in our submissions of tourny permits.

I'm wondering if we shouldn't move it to the weekend before since there are no tournaments scheduled. Plus, the big tournament on Moses Lake on May 3+4th will keep the pre-fishers down to a minimum. Just a thought.

Hey Daryl and all....Bruce Baker just replyed and says they have no permits at all....they failed to apply this year....he is checking into it and I e-mailed the PDF application and links.
Unfortunately Chelans size, even though it fishes small.....allows for three clubs or 250 boats so if they get the permit it is ok I would have hoped they would have asked or even advised us of their intentions...... Tongue

Larry, on their PDF it has a phone number.  Should Phil or someone from the board call them to let them know about the conflict?

Just got this from Bruce....

"I expect the application to arrive before April 10.  I process
applications year round and as long as I receive an application
approximately 30 days in advance (I am a little flexible) and I find no
conflict.  It will be approved.  From my perspective, you do not need to
change your date on account for a club that did not apply because this
club will have applied for its permit and there are no conflicts
according to the WAC.  I know you disagree with this, but it's the way
things are.

I do not have any reasons to deny their application."

I say move it. If another 50 boats show up and blast before we do what does that leave us? At only about 10 miles of lake to fish with say 80 boats including us where in the heck are we going to be?

Is it possible to move back one week or prior week?

Then I can make it. He,he.

Okay...Here is the scoop....Talked to Kim Skaar, Secretary and Board Member of Chelan.....They have fired their T.D. on the news that no applications have been turned in...Damage done......
We all have to now decide what to do and when/where to do it.
Will be calling Phil in a minute but have to say that Chelan is very apologetic, and as a former Western Bass Club member...(Circa1980)  He wishes he could change their dates but have already given sponsor notices, accepted and sent tax info etc.....not to mention taken entries....he stated they had 24 boats average in past events so the impact is not as bad as feared.

more to follow...
