Jackplate and tune-up recommedations...

I know we have had this discussion before but I forgot who went where and what.  I am having my jackplate installed and a tune up for my ranger in a couple of weeks.  Where should I go to have this done and set up properly?  I was planning to go to Cabela's unless I get a different recommendation.  I don't want to travel across the state and I'd like to do this in a reasonable amount of $$$ but most important is that it is done right.

I am actually picking my boat up from Angler's Marine tomorrow.  I had a new jack plate installed and a tune up.  I also had them do some various other things too.  They seem like they know what they are doing.

There are some in this club who would say that the words "SEEM TO KNOW WHAT THEY ARE DOING", Huh are the critical elements of your post about Anglers.  Lips Sealed

I went to Tacoma Marine Repair recently under the guidance of Smitty and Jim Rumann.  I dropped my boat off and picked it up the following saturday.  I'm sure they install jackplates and such.  I would give them a call if I were you.  While you are there pick up some Merc Premium plus oil in bulk, $16 a gallon  Shocked  I am all set with 7 gallons at hand.

I'll 2nd the "Seem to Know" phrase about Anglers. Wcct just make sure those bolts are tightened on that jack plate. I wouldn't want you to be the one renting scuba gear to locate that motor thats on the bottom of the lake.

Doug

I take my boat to US marine in Olympia and they change you lower unit fluids, tune up(spark plugs), and look at your trailer hubs. I have not taken my Triton, but I did take the Procraft and it was $235 out the door. Yes, they set an appointment and turn it around in a day.

As far as the Jackplate, you need to quit being a big baby and do what I told you.

When I got mine put on they charged me a half hour of labor.

Wow!

I can honestly say that I have never had a problem with Anglers? Bob had always been good to me and my boat seems to run fine.

The jack plate at the bottom of the lake? Are you talking about Dave Hendricks boat? The work for that was not done at Anglers.

Maybe you should buy a Torque wrench! 70 pounds on your jack plate should work. If you need any more help please feel free to let me know Russ.
