Gang,

Will these new gas prices lately change the number of outings you go on?

With a $1200 month gas bill I sure am looking at cutting back.

I usually fish close to home too often as it is, so probably will stay the same.  With the 10-12 mpg  Tree-fiddy Chevy, can't afford to go too far.  Tongue

Yup.  Keri and I will not be going to the Jamboree this year, for example.

It will affect fun fishing trips. As for practice and tournaments for NWBASS, during Practice i am leaving my boat at my partners in E. WA and driving the GEO METRO over there. Then using his truck to tow from there.

I am considering getting a Diesel Truck

My dad does, but it is soon to be mine, he is probably going to give me the Metro and he will get a nicer car. The metro is a 96 and has 265,000 Miles on it and still gets 40+ MPG and burns almost no oil.

Actually, I'm hoping to increase my use of the hydroblaster, but that's not hard to do. I really want to get my canoe back into action. It's cheap to run...a few granola bars and a bottle of Gator Aid, fun, and sneaky quiet. C&R, Steve

I will be cutting back too, the G3 with that 115 4-stroke is cheap to operate, its the tow vechicle that is hard on the wallet.  I did have a diesel, miss the power, but the price of deisel and maintance costs make it a draw on whitch is the better choice.  Will spend more time on local lakes with no launch fees, vacations will be at state parks.  Over all fishing time will not cut back, just the distance to lakes fished.

Actually - I am thinkin of driving less to work and more to fishin and huntin' and such.  This whole working business is just in the way of all that fun!  Cheesy I am moving to a 4 day work week starting May 1.  This means that I will drive one less day at week 150 miles.  Figured I can use that quota all summer long and drive anywhere from Eburg and get to all my preferred locations.

Who cares about gas prices? I work all week so I can fish on the weekends, I'll pay $5 a gallon if I have too. I'm not making boat payments to have it sit in the garage. Maybe I need to buy less groceries? I could stand to lose a few pounds. Plus, with less weight to hall over the mountains, I will save on gas money.

That's my theory and I'm sticking to it.
