Salmon Poisoning?

Read a report while getting my two new puppies up on shots, etc.  Did you know dogs that consume raw salmon can develop a severe illness called Salmon Poisoning Disease (SPD)?  It further stated that dogs should not be allowed to eat fresh salmon, or even some forms of the fish that have been cold smoked or frozen and thawed within 158 days.  Why you may ask?  It's all about a little microorganism called the FLUKE....Not getting into more of the details, but after reading it I probably won't eat any sushi if it consists of salmon, and I now know why I'm a BASS fisherman......  Something about a fluke in my fish I'm eating just turns the ole tummy.........

It can cause death also....Although my vet stated we are usually not affected by this....it just doesn't sit well thinking about the FLUKE as I eat my Salmon dinner........

Tongue Tongue Tongue Tongue

Later,

Chuck Pigue

My passion for thorough cooking comes from my dad who used to say, "When it's brown it's done, and when it's black, it's better!"  Raw fish - can't be good for man or beast!
