Motor problem

I fished the open tournament today and of course of all the days to have a problem it had to be this day.  I ran the boat hard from Coulon to I90.  Then there was a warning sound coming, but no light was on.  It went away until about an hour later the boat won't past 2000 rpm and bogged down when I was trying to get on plane.  I took the cover off and saw that there was a bit of oil residue around the plugs on the port side of the motor, especially the top one.  I just got a chance to pull the plugs and sure enough it was fouled, with oil/gas over it.  The two lower ones aren't as bad and the starbird side is fine.  Are the plugs just fouled or is it something more serious?  It's a Yamaha 150 HPDI.

Oh and Larry...I'm not going to get a Procraft.  I already know what you are thinking.

Y2,

If you looked at my post awhile back regarding the HPDI problems your problem is probably a bad oil pump. Yamaha has a recall on certain oil pumps. Call Nixons and he will let you know if the 150's are on the list. I know for a fact the 250 + 300's are on the list.

I had this problem at Roosevelt with my 250 HPDI.

Good Luck,

Russ
