I am looking to buy  my first sonar. I want a lowrance. My price range is $500. I will only have one sonar on my boat.

Whats the difference on the models and what ones do you reccomend over the other?

I noticed Bottom line prices have dropped in the past few years.
Is this product worth the $139?

Whats the difference between this and the lowrance brand?

Thanks.

I have the 332c but now th ey have come out with another upgraded model. These have GPS and are color. They are great, but new may be over your price range. The older LMS 480 is basically the same thing without the color. GPS is pretty much a must. It really helps with pinpointing areas faster or running safe water. I'd give up color before I'd give up GPS. If aren't interested in GPS then any Lowarance color grapd with a 480 x 480 pixel screen would be fine. Stay with Lowrance though. They seem to be on the top right now. I'm not sure how the new Hummingbird and Garmin's are.
