Thanks, Glenn.
Your welcome warms my heart.  ...
I heard some more stories today, about how Bass 'fight', how they can hit, spit the hook ...  I had a 'large' fish on, on Lake Josephine, that I fought and fought.  It made a run way out, and then went straight out of the water, it's 'back' to me/us, and gills flared out really really wide ...  Other than that, I didn't get a look at it, so, do Bass do that???  It ran, hard and fast, just didn't 'wear out' ... finally made a run at the boat, went up and behind me, then in and under the boat.  I didn't turn with the fish, and -- lost it --.  It WAS good-sized. Yes, a 'fish story' Roll Eyes.  I'm just wondering if it was a Bass .... I think a trout would have worn it'self out by then.
So, you see, I may have much to learn, but, I'm confident I CAN LEARN, and get in there, and hook them, and fight them ...
So, thank you again, Glenn,  for the welcome  Smiley.  I mean it.
Night for now.
Jerrie

Sounds like a trout to me, Jerrie.  In my limited experience with bass they don't peel out line and head for the hills the way trout do.  Oh boy, I can just feel the shots coming at me for that one.  Kiss

Smallies will run all over the place but if it was recently...with the cold I would think it would have been more lethargic...I would say Trout too.

Hey,
Thanks, Dips'~!
Must've been a trout ... sigh.
But, I'm ready to find out what it is to have a small or large-mouth on~!!!
Somehow, I think you can handle anything that comes your way (over this)!  Thanks for answering a 'newbie' to BASS fishin'.   Smiley
