C.A.S.T. for Kids needs your help

We have a tremendous opportunity to raise money for the Foundation at the Seattle Boat Show Jan. 14-23, and to give C.A.S.T. more visibility in the Boating community.  Plus you'll get into the show for FREE and look at all the snazzy new boats for 2005.  The Show will be at the Qwest Field Event Center.

Honda Marine has graciously invited CAST volunteers to man their fishing simulator and in doing so solicit donations.  Last year CAST received almost $1,100 from the show.  Below is the blurb from the program.
Quote:
Catch the Big One" and Win a Jetcraft Fishing Boat with a 50 hp Honda Engine and Trailer.
Make a voluntary contribution to C.A.S.T. for Kids and then "catch the big one" using the fishing tournament simulator. The top 10 anglers each day, with the highest scores, will be entered to win.
West Hall, Booth 54

I have listed the dates and times for the Show below.  Please e-mail Jim or call (425-251-3214) and let him know which dates and times that you would be able to volunteer.  You can sign up for full or partial days, and for more than one day.  We'll take the help whenever we can get it.  He will e-mail or call you back and let you know if your date & time are open.

Fri.            Jan. 14        12-9
Sat.                  15        10-8
Sun                  16        10-6
Mon - Th.        17-20     12-8
Fri.                    21       12-9
Sat.                  22        10-8
Sun.                 23        10-6

Thank you in advance for your support,

Glenn

Glenn,  it might be a good idea to mention that the Jim is Jim Owens not Jim Shaffer.

yes, Jim Owens - the one who has donated stuff to our raffles, operated C.A.S.T. for Kids, past president of the Washington Bass Federation (doing untold numbers of things to help us bass anglers), recovering cancer patient...

Yes, that Jim Owens.

A coupla hours at the boat show wouldn't hurt anyone.  You'd pay to go, so why not get in for free??

Event is coming up so I hope that several members have volunteered their time.

It isn't very tuff.  You sit at the booth and tell people that if they donate to the C.A.S.T. fund they get to try the simulated fishing machine and the top ten times for the day are entered in the drawing for the prize.  I think last year was a boat, motor and trailer.

And best of all you get into the boat show for FREE

Hi Everyone,
I just want to thank Jim and Sherry Shaffer and my wife for helping out at the booth on Saturday.  It was a 7-8 hr shift, but boy was it fun!!!  We had LINES of people waiting to play the fishing simulator.  I think my score took 2nd for the day (too bad I wasn't eligible!). Tons of folks there kept us very busy.  We had a blast!

I especially wanted to thank RICH LOTH for not only helping out on Saturday, but for showing up the previous weekend as well.

We have some real quality folks in this club, people.   Cheesy

Many thanks!!!

Well I have to admit it was alotta fun and it went by pretty quick also.

I think Glenn, that we both were in second place. Of course you did it on the first try and it took me 3 try's to get there. but it was a hoot!
