NW Bass Tourney Lake Washington

Hello all,

Fished NW Bass tourney on Saturday and had an amazingly lucky day. At 1:30, my dad and I only had one nice 4 pounder in the boat that was caught in portage bay on a drop shot. Just when we'd thought we were through, we stumbled on to an awesome jerkbait bite on the flats outside Newport canals and boated 6 nice bass in 30 minutes...wow! We weighed in 14.11, which put us in around 15th place. The lake fished huge this year, with Kenworthy and Duncan taking the lake for the second year in a row with over 22 lbs of smallmouth, all caught on crankbaits in 10 feet of water. I have a feeling some of the folks have a few tremendous spots that continually produce quality fish.  Having only fished the lake twice, we were thrilled with our luck, and should have good points going into Potholes in two weeks. Hope you all are having your fair share of good fish....this time of year is a lot of fun.

Tight Lines,
Danny Garrett

Awesome!  Looks like we have a couple of heavy-hitters for the Jamboree!  Grin

Thanks a lot you guys! My only regret about fishing NW Bass is the scehdule conflicts with all the WBC events. At the very least, I hope to become involved by fishing the fish-ins and attending all the meetings. I checked the standings today...looks like were 6th in overall points. I'm always optimistic, but I recognize that we are serious underdogs given our lack of experience on these lakes (this is our 2nd year). Hopefully my dad's 15 years of North Carolina largemouth fishing will pay off on Potholes in 2 weeks. We're going to potholes this weekend to prefish (hoping to kill em on topwater), and I'll post a report this Sunday. Thanks again for your replies guys.

Tight Lines,
Danny
