Well the last of this years "T" s is over for me and it was really a gas!
My partner & I left last thursday about 8 A.M. bound for Oroville CA. to fish the Yamamoto Open, a team format tournament, fished with only Yamamoto plastics.  After a stop in Woodland Wa. to visit the Lamiglass factory (one of my partner's sponsors) we breezed into the host hotel about 7:30 P.M.  with the Red Snake in tow.
Friday was prefish day with a banquet and drivers's meeting at a large local casino in the evening that included seminars by Larry Hemphill, Andy Coochia, & Gary Dobyns.
With a 4 A.M. wakeup we found ourselves on the lake by 5:15 waiting for what changed from a 6:45 blastoff to a 7:15 start.  Since we were boat # 19 out of 136, I didn't get to see much of the process, but it took well over 30 minutes to get us all out.
We weighed in at 3 P.M.with a limit of 5 culled Kentucky bass that totaled 7.67 lbs.that gave us a finish of 72nd out of 136 registered teams.
Second place was about 10.7 lbs. while 1st place was 13.4 with a 5.65 lb. largemouth kicker fish.  It was one of only 2 largemouth caught in the tourney.
The vast majority of us caught clone sized "Spots" with hundreths of an oz separating the 1st 80 positions.
Well after a driveby "classic style" weighin  to be televised nationaly in January,  Mike & I left for the 1 1/2 hr drive north to Lake Shasta.  We got up on Sunday morning at 6:30, fished & caught a lot of Kentuckies until noon. We were back home at 10:30 that night allowing us to work on Monday.
The trip was a gas, the fishing  good and not that expensive.  Including the entry fees & options of $190.00, the trip cost us about $300.00 each.  Not bad for fishing two lakes driving 1400 miles and enjoying some great weather.

P.S.  Ask me about how I was greeted at Lamiglass since I'm sponsored by Shimano.
