Thanks to everyone that came out to work at Lake Kapowsin on Saturday! We had three people in two boats on the lake cleaning the shoreline, and the rest of us (5 volunteer, 4 DNR) worked on cleaning up around the boat launch, cutting blackberry, shoveling and wheelbarrowing rock out on the shoreline trail. We wound up a little early because most folks got pretty tired and hot with the trail work. I was sorry to miss Rodney’s return with a big load of shoreline trash! I’ll be back out today and can collect it. We learned some things: Get a banner that ID’s the work party so that people fishing will know right away what we’re doing; leave a note for latecomers so they know where we are!! Rodney, please pass on my apologies to the bass club members that we missed.
If you are interested in getting a voucher good toward discover pass hours (24 hours needed for a pass) send me your mailing address.
Thanks –

Hello All:
Please join us at for a work party on July 15,10:00 at the Lake Kapowsin boat launch. If you have a boat and want to patrol the shoreline for litter and fishing gear debris, that is welcome, a grabber or boat hook would be helpful. Otherwise we will work on cutting back blackberry around the access area and improving the shoreline trail (I hope to bring in some rock.) DNR will bring some refreshments and additions are welcome. Let me know if you have any questions, hope to see you there!
Thanks,
Link to DNR facebook event you can share (I’m sorry, I don’t know how to make this a short link!!)

Where are all those who wonder why Western doesn't do any fish habitat improvement projects? This is it, change can only happen if you are willing to change. Get signed up, 22 people shy of the goal.

Let's show up in force for this clean up. The last clean up had 19 people show up.
I challenge Western Bass Club to participate at a 50% of club membership. That's 25 members, post that you will attend for sure. If we meet this goal I'm willing to cook us up a pancake breakfast before the cleanup starts.
Mark your calendar for 15 July. Post here you will be there!
