Big fish... $32
Posted by: Terry Posted on: 07/12/17 at 11:46:43
Entry fees~$650 Permit - $94 Big Fish - $80 Rod -$350 Pizza - $100
~$26 left over???
Just quick math in my head, but seems pretty close to not fret.
I do think if we want to grow this next year though, making it a free entry would go along way and still having the winner win a gift certificate or cash would be cool. Just some thoughts.

More than willing to donate to a great club, but to fish, pay for entry. Lodging, food, gas etc. has to have some benefit for the winners. Just saying. Entry fees were over $600 bucks where is that money? If club needs cash charge all members not just the ones that showed up to fish a tournament.

Guys... We had meetings and threads where we asked for ideas for this event... This is the first of its kind for us and it will develop as it goes. Lets embrace it,Develop it and attend it so we all get what we want from this.

I didn't fish this but as a Member(12yrs), what the heck? The point of entry is to win $ or at least a piece of hardware. A donated rod that you have to go get is not attractive.

Terry-
Good point and $350 is a nice rod, but the whole go down to LOM to pick it up smells like the club didn't pay full price.... and if you do the math at a full $350 -$70 permit that's like $188 in pizza. I didn't go back to eat because it was too hot but maybe I should have taken a few pies back to my room.

Yeah, it wasn't clearly enough defined. They payed Big Fish and I think a cert for a rod $350 value. And if you stuck around Saturday, Brad went and picked up some pizzas etc for us. I showed up with no cash also, but happily went and got cash to donate to the cause.
If we do this again next year, which I think we should, I suggest laying out where the cash goes.

Hell I didn't realize that either. Was it in writing that there were no paybacks besides big fish ? Glad I did poorly in this case. See ya'll at Lake WA.

Wait/What? You paid to fun fish? tour·na·ment ˈtərnəmənt,ˈto͝ornəmənt/ noun 1. (in a sport or game) a series of contests between a number of competitors, who compete for an overall prize. I almost drove over each day to enter, glad I saved my gas/entry $!

Jack-
Larry was the only one to take home the big $$$$. Only BF was paid out and no plaques. After some thought I didn't hear upfront that it was a paid fish-in or I would have saved some of my hard earned cash.
What charity is the entry money going to so I can claim it on my taxes?

Shawn OConnell won with mid 19 lbs. Mike Stahlman 2nd. It was tough to find the Smallies over 2 lbs. Larry got Big Fish with a 3.9 LM on Saturday, he said he couldn't find any on Sunday. I missed all my topwater bites Sunday morning, and lost one half way to the boat. Would have had my 5.3 lb sack around 7 at least It was fun though, and I'm pretty sure it never hit 100 degree's but was close.
