It was cold and windy but it was good to be out fishing with the guys even if the actual catching was tough. Dan was nice enough to take me out on his "new" Triton while mine is in the shop getting its annual tune up. I was able to start things off after about 15 minutes by catching a nice rainbow trout that we guessed weighed about three pounds. Then Dan caught the only small mouth of the day about 15 minutes later and that was it for our catching. Here is a nice picture of Dan and his 3lb 1oz small mouth. It was great seeing some young and enthusiastic new anglers come out for the fish-in. I hope they decide to join the club because they were so excited about fishing and I think they would be a great addition to our Western Bass Club family. Another fun day on the water.

Good to be out on the water and also to see some new anglers!! A welcome to Kai and Dom two young anglers joined us for the day in their Tracker and logged their first Fish-in!! Nice job Dan on the 3-1 Smally!! Jose did all the fish catching on the ProCraft with a Trophy Pikeminnow, a Perch and his specialty Sculpin!! Looking forward to seeing the new guys at future events in 2014!!

That's the spirit man! Don't let a few raindrops spoil our fun. I think a little rain makes the chili dogs taste even better. Looking forward to seeing and fishing from the new boat!

Well I just checked the weather it looks like a little rain (not much) is headed our way Saturday. As of right now The fish in is a GO. I'm not afraid of a couple of stupid little rain drops. Actually it's a 30% chance so I think it will drizzle for an hour or so and then be nice. max winds are supposed to be 8 mph which isn't bad at all. I've caught some of my biggest smallies outta this lake the same time of year and under the same conditions. I'm sure the fish will be biting if you can find 'em.

I should be there. I may need to be a backseater on someones boat because I am taking the boat to Limit Out Marine today for its annual oil change and checkup and don't know if I will get it back by next Saturday.
