Its the very water they poop in - I don't suspect they worry too much about it! lol

Well as long as the fish don't swim there for 12 hours they'll be good.

That's good to hear

They poison the canal every year, (or every other year), so I doubt it has had any major effect of the fishery. The bass still keep coming back, and some stay all summer long. When they start growing three eyes - I'll take my theory back. lol
Meanwhile... I wouldn't get too alarmed. It's been going on for decades.

I cant imagine that not being very bad for eggs and newly hatched fry.

Everyone,
I should have posted this a week ago but better late than never. While I was in the Lake WA canals on Sunday 6/2 I noticed these signs posted along the bulkhead. I didn't stop to read it until I was on my way out and found out that they had just sprayed some aquatic vegetation killer in the canals on 5/29.
After talking with Dan about this we were thinking that this must bother the fish and they might have left the canals while this stuff was fresh in the water. I don't know how long this stuff might affect the number of fish in the canals and maybe by now the concentration in the water has decreased so the fish aren't so bothered. Killing the vegetation is probably not a good thing. I guess too much may not be good either. If anyone is planning on going in the canals keep this in mind. Is this something they usually do and is there any cause for alarm?
