That's a huge fish Rodney! It looks even better since all I could manage was a few nibbles and a fish taking one of my drop shop sniper bolts. Nice goin right up until the end. I guess you win the Iaconelli "Never give up" award for the day!

I remember that day, the jerkbait bite that day was on! The water temp is about 4 degrees away from the lake turning on. These bass are claiming more of the lake as their home, I kept catching them in new areas, have never hooked a bass where I caught her. This is about 2 weeks ahead of when it normally starts.

For the rest of us it was just big trout. This time of year on a day like yesterday those smallies could have been anywhere from 80 to 6 feet deep. I tried all the depth ranges with a bunch of different lures ranging from 8 foot cranks to dropshotting 75 feet deep. I moved fast and changed tactics all day. Even went for a giant largie for a while with no success. Still came off the water feelin good tho cause it was such a nice day. Rodney wrangled that pig in 10 minutes before the fish in ended to save the day. Nice job Rodney that was a great fish! Cool

American Lake water temps where 46 degrees up to 48 degrees in Little American. It was a great one bass day with my 5.02 lb small mouth bass on a drop shot.
