Let us not forget the fun fishing. Daryl and I had a great time catching perch and also 2 nice cut throut trout landed and a big one got away. The bigger perch where in 60 feet depth plus. White and pearl 2 and 3 inch senkos drop shotted wacky rigged on size 4 Gamakatsu split shot/drop shot did the trick. We did up our Quick Drops weights to 1/2 oz to get down much faster. Can you say "Fish Taco's"?

Lake washington

Seven  boats and 13 members showed up for the fish in. The water temp was 54 to 55 degrees and it was a very nice, calm sunny day on the lake today; despite the forecast for possible rain.The bite was pretty tough for most today, but a couple of boats brought in some fish. The only two boats that caught smallies were Patrick's and mine. Patrick caught 2 nice smallies weighing in at 2 and 2lb 9 oz. In my boat,  Jeff I. caught a 2 lb 9 oz er, new member Alex caught 4 quality bass ranging from 2 to 2lb 10oz and a 3/4 pounder for a total of 5. I got 6 bass ranging from 2lbs to 3lb 1 oz. The 3.1 went for "big fish". Deep structure was the key for us today. I noticed some of the fish we were catching  had freshly swallowed sculpins and crawfish sticking out of thier throats.

Sweet, I got all that stuff.  So do I need to bring my boat? I'd rather not take it on lake wa just cause it hates rough water but I can if its a pain to fit everyone in boats??

I am 99% there I will launch at Newport & motor over.

Yeah u should get familiar with cold weather bassin! I really like it cause theres usually no pleasure boaters, jet skiers or much competition for spots. Dress in  warm rainproof gear, and bring 2 spinning rods with 6 to 8lb test for dropshots n football heads. You dont need to bring all your gear; just some small finesse baits ( sniper snubs, small senkos, etc.) and some hula grubs. Browns n greens seem to work good.

Dropshot rigs...football head jigs in 1/2 oz to 1 ounce...texas rigged tubes are a good start and when there ask around...folks will always share info and show ya how to rig 'em. depth will start at 20-50 feet this time of year but maybe even see folks catching from 15-70!

I think I'm gonna try and make it out there.  what rods should I bring?? I'm not very familiar with the cold weather bassin.
