If you weren't dealing with Linda Colt, you were probably getting crappy service. I just hope the HDS unit's I have don't go bad, cause she's no longer working there.

I really like the lowrance product dont get me wrong, but I had a unit get water in it a few years back and the customer service I recieved was far from good. I am nothing but happy with the humminbird so far.

Troy, what was the main reason to go with a Hummingbird over a Lowrance?

One about three and the other around two. I got a humminbird 898. I literally idled all the way down sammamish last weekend and spent a solid three hours on wa with it sunday. I am really interested in seeing just what this thing can do.

How big were the fish you got? So you bit the bullet & got a side finder What size screen did you get? Prepare to catch fewer fish as it can be memorizing staring at the screen all day.

Went out today to put some more face time in on the side imaging and do some fishing. Spent alot of time driving around and ended up getting two fish on the dropshot. 34 and 41ft.

John and I caught 4 smallies and countless BIG perch. Our 4 smalles were 4.4, 2.9, 2.5 and a rat at 1.5 ish. We caught ours from 30ft to 55ft. Typical winter spots. Mostly on the drop shot though.

Wish I could but I'm dealing with a ruptured eardrum. I will catch big bass on my couch courtesy of Play Station 2. Best of luck out there folks!
