Thanks again for the guys that came out. We hoped everyone had a good time, won a prize or 2 (some guys got more than a few), and possibly caught some fish. We will work hard to get an even better event next year, and possibly look at some different dates. Thanks to all of the sponsors that made it possible, with the great prizes. Hope to see some of you guys again next year!

big fish was a 3.97 caught by the team of bill smith and keith helvey. this was the best run tournament i've ever participated in. yeah the fishing was tough, but it was tough for everyone. allthough i didn't win anything at the raffle, there were numerous awesome prizes. the food was also great. you can tell they put some serious time into organizing this one! good job guys....

Mike Wolsky and Thanye Hatch fished the tournament, AND THEY WON !
Great job guys.   4 fish for I believe 10.7 lbs.  They did not get the big fish $1,000, maybe next year.
12 boats blanked.
Great looking tournament, I scored big on the raffle Wink

Who fished it? how'd you do?

I heard there were only 40 or so fish caught? Typical Sammy in winter.

I believe anyone can participate in the raffle, and even get a free hot dog. This is about having fun, and kicking off the season with the guys getting together for some good competition, close enough to home and a reasonable enough entry fee to make it worthwhile to fish. The entry fee alone is less per guy than the gas over the hill to the Eastside......And you could win a grand for 1 fish.

Can anyone participate in the raffle - or just those who fish the tourney?

I'm picking up my boat in the AM, might make it out for the Raffle and weigh-in.

Brian,

I agree. Last year was real strange when over half the field blanks, it doesn't make it very fun to get just one bite like we did. That was the tuffest tourney I had ever fished without a bite. My partner had one bite for one fish in the last hour and he knows that lake like Hobbs does and he was just baffled.

I like Lake Sam and have done well there in the past as well and I was stumped.

The tournament was well organized and run very well.

Hopefully the fishing will be better this year!!!

I sure hope not.... I think last year was a fluke thing with the nice day we had. Kinda shut some of the fishing down....but the hot dogs will even be better after fishing!

FYI, the date on the flyer post on the website is not correct (should be Feb 16th.......). It will be changed shortly......Darn Frontpage!
I hear of some nice fish being caught out of Sammamish already (over 4#), so it is not as tough as a few people talk it up to be......and the big fish was 3.72 last year even. It will be a lot of fun, and the entry fee is less than gas over to Banks and back (wow)!

Yeah,
I TRIED to launch there today.  All of the docks were under water.  With 6" - 12" of water  you have to wade thru to even get to the wood part of the dock which was 3" -6" under water.  After trying to fight it for 15 mins, I figured Washington was the better bet.  Got there about 9:45 and left at 2pm.  Got 3 fish all over 3lbs. and had a 4th come undone.  Worked some new water today like always and was pleasantly rewarded with a FAT 3lb 10oz smallie.
