Swimbaits rock.  Rob rocks.  Rob rocks when throwing swimbaits.  Just ask the 5lb 8oz pig he landed at Riffe.

Mark,
Thanks for the tips on Sam but it didn't do me much good. I tried the dropshot, the grub with football head,
everything. I did help thin out the weed population for all the rest of you! I caught my first sucker or what ever that fish is called. I also caught some dinks and only one that was a keeper.  I didn't ever get close to the one Virgil caught the week before on one of those white things he uses!!!!
Thanks,
Kathy

I knew that was a joke mark.  Who knows, some lurker might even thinks it's real and really try it.

Mark,
Virgil may get the joke but it sure doesn't help me any!!!
If I ever hope to out fish him I'm going to need a lot more help than that!!! Thanks for the info. I'm going to try and fish Sam tomorrow and see if your info helps. I'm not going to share it with you know who. He doesn't have access to a computer so at least I have one up on him!!
Thanks for the info I'll let you know how it goes.

The response was an inside joke.  Hopefully Virgil got it.  Anyway, I have been catching my fish with a sled head jig and grub combo and a few dropshotting.

Yep, beat the weather by 30 minutes and beat the fish up the last two hours of fishing.

Hhhmmm...since your post is so early I would imagine that you beat the weather.  Good job, both on fish and not getting soaked.

Hit Sam again today.  And it was a slow moring.  Tried for largies up north.  Nothing.  Started smallie fishing at 9 and put a 4lb in the boat right off.  Then it got real slow.  Fishing didn't really get going until 1pm .  Wound up with 7 in the boat that would go 14lbs.  Had one in the 4lb range break my hook in two.......  Thats what I get for using the light wire Owner down shot hook...
Fish came for my usual area's but just not alot of bites.  The bites I got all produced good quality fish though.

Hey Dipsnort, that monster Shocked almost didn't fit in the picture. Grin

Hey, any bass caught on a fly automatically counts double the actual size, so that one is well into the dink size range! Grin
