Carlos and I went to the Potholes on Wed night and fished Thur-Mon. Let me tell you, the bite was on!! Largemouth were aggessive and in the right spots, were just cruising for meals. We gave them some! The smallie bite was great too, but didn't spend as much time on them. Flipping bushes in Lind Coulee was the ticket. It was like largemouth fishing. Deep rock piles produced fish on grubs and lizards.
One day we stumbled over a mess off bedding Bluegill. We caught 24 one day and 12 or so another. Good eating. Largemouth would cruise up on the spot and we would grab the flippin stick and....doink, fish on!! Several fish in the 4 lb range, but nothing over 5.
Sunday night we went back out at 11:00pm or so and fished till 6:30 am. We trolled for walleye on a rig we thought would work. We got two, a 16 and a 20 inch. Went back and had Memorial Day breakfast with them and some potatoes and onions.
On another note: Another campsite opened down by Lake Warden. This is just a few miles past the Lind Coulee launch going East. 15 bucks a night with full hookups!! They sites are huge too. Put Mardon's spaces to shame. We actually left when we found this spot (we couldn't get the boat in with the trailer). They also have a 2-story clubhouse with super clean full size bathrooms with free showers (they are cleaned hourly). TV and kitchen are also available in the clubhouse. Huge deck on upper story too. They also have several cabins. You can rent the site for the whole year for $700. My parents were paying $45 for their tralier storage. Now they just keep it there and we have a site at Potholes for a full year. Great hospitality from the co-owner, Joe.
