Hit Sawyer on Monday and it was a dink-o-rama.  Caught 30+ but they were all 1-2 lbs at the most.  Skipping under docks did produce but again they were small.  Split shot did pretty well also.  It was still fun but I need to follow Russ and find those bigger fish.  Wink

My Sawyer skills have been dormant all year.  Seems like every trip, I have had something go wrong out there.  Parking ticket first thing this year, broken rod, boat launch idiots lol.

I guess you guys need some guide services on Sawyer.
Ha!!Ha!!. No seriously the fish are on docks from 2 feet to 8 feet deep, have lots of shade under them and are next to deep water. North and east side stuff primarily. I can't give you much more because I am allready giving away all my secrets.

fished for an hour and only managed one 1.5lber smallie, although i thought it was a hawg. i did get a few other strikes, but no hookups. i think the crappy weather put them off the bite.

Hey dipsnort,
yes its out on the main road, and you do have to walk a few hundred yards, but well worth the 5 dollars for the poor man..... if your out there tonight youll probably see my white ford truck....chad

Although I wasn't sure about that, you have confirmed my suspiscion, Chad.  Thanks!  I'm wondering exactly where the "cutoff" line is on the parking fee thing.  Is it way out on the main road or somewhere closer?  Undecided

Dipsnort,
It's a 5 dollar parking fee, not a launch fee. At least thats how I read it. Everytime I go there to fish off the shore, I park on that main road, and walk. The one time we did launch are boat there, we paid, and were gonna park, but someone took the last parking spot right in front of us. So I dont see why you couldnt drop off your canoe, and park on the road.

Thanks, Russ.  I'll try that as soon as the sting of the $5 launch/skunking quotiant wears off.  Wink

Dipsnort,

Try dead sticking a 5" June Bug Senko under the darkest/shaded I mean docks you can find-East end/North end. You will find the fish there.

Sometimes the flies don't stay on so I put on crickets instead.  Wink

Yeah, I'm sure.  I tried dropshotting, senkos, crankbaits, spinnerbaits, and the kitchen sink, but nothing worked.  Hey, I never said I actually know how to catch those dang bass!  Grin

Hey Dip,

Are you sure your using a lure on that pole other than a fly.

I don't know, Russ.  Last time you reported good things about Sawyer I promptly went out there and got skunked.  I'll wait for someone to volunteer to dive down and put bass on my hook.  Roll Eyes
