I don't have a fly rod but I do throw the lg. bass flys and do pretty good in the hot summer nights

   When I lived in southern ca we used to flyfish for bass in the spring time using poppers.  We would catch a lot of bass and bluegill.  Has anybody tried this up here?   Thanks, Jason
