Just some food for thought for those guys guessing over 25lbs.  Banks Lake does not kick out those types of limits for two days during June events, though it seems as if it should.  Based on past WBC events, though folks do catch decent largemouth, this bite tends not to hold up and they are typically not any heavier than the typical smallmouth bag.  I do not want to discourage anglers from doing what they want to do, but it is important to consider past tournaments and the weights of the bags as you formulate your plan for success.

Boys its to going to be no more than 25lbs at the most.  I  hope it's around 23 so that it's close.  We will wait see about who's looking down at who you large mouth fisherman, if this cold front is as bad as they say those bucket mouths will be locked jawed you boys will need a crow bar to get'em to say ahhh. Grin  so good luck to all and good fish'n 8)

Water level is probably high enough where there's no "advantage" - but, unless the largies are spawning, those bays are basically empty (Schlagle and "Walker").  Airport bays might be productive though.  Pop-R's baby!

If you're ever there in the fall, forget the airport bays.  I pounded the crap out of them the past couple of years to no avail.  Same for the bays across the other side.

I hope the wind stays mellow for us tin boaters.  I don't think the ol' Panacea can take another Banks Lake beating.  My guess for weight considering possible cold front, post spawn, water level:  about 27.5 lbs.
Speaking of water level, anyone know what the level is compared to the Jamboree?  I'm wondering if tin will have an advantage?

Sarge,
Would love to see weights similar to Potholes, but it is going to take more work such as the Banks Lake Enhancement project to realize those dreams.  THe jamboree this year was 29lbs for three days.  I hope everyone is jammed into the bays!!!!

19-20lbs as usual for this event.  The average sack at the Jamboree is in the 9-10lb range.  I wish that the Largies in this lake were bigger than we have caught recently, but I will hang my hat on the smallie bite, wind or not.

I would say 26lbs.  The largemouth will dominate the top spots.  Those of you going only for smallmouth, well, will see you at the bottom

I am  guessing about 23+lbs......why?  Because I think more people will be forced to fish for largemouth because of the predicted high winds.   If the wind gusts get up to around 35mph for both Saturday and Sunday as predicted, many people will be forced to fish the bays where largemouth are more prevelant.  Someone will figure it out like they always do and bring in a large bag.   We'll see what happens!  It should be fun!

Anchors away!
