I use 8 or 10 pound power pro with 5 or 6 pound fluorocarbon leader. I do a uni to uni and tie on about 16 feet so I don't have to tie new leader on all that often.

I buy enough for one reel. If the reel is higher capacity I'll back the braid with cheap mono to save some cash.

Do you buy the braid by the spool? Or do you just buy enough to fill the reel and have the sporting goods store put it on?

Tell more about length and action of the rod. Line, 15 lb Power Pro with 8 lb floro carbon leader would be beefier.

Just picked up a new dropshot combo at the sportsman show. Should I put braid on with a fluorocarbon leader? Mono? My other one has 5lb fluorocarbon, and wanted something a little beefier.
