Thankx to all of you WBCers for coming out and helping with the FK events.  You were great as usual.  It's always nice to have volunteers that know how to fish.  Well most of you anyway.

Next stops are:

CAST for Kids on September 7th for special needs kids

Take A warrior Fishing on September 14th for wounded warriors

Both are ar Coulon.  You can sign up as a boater for both on the CAST website - www.castforkids.org

Thankx again and Take Care!

Everyone had a great time at the "Fishing Kids" event on Saturday.  Weather was great and there was a nice turnout of volunteers and kids.  Western Bass Club had a good turnout with Big Pig specialist Dan Caffrey and Christy, new member Brad Glau, myself, Phil Hudgens and Rodney Heupel.

One of Phil's kids was lucky enough to catch one of the few BIG trout and that was a real team effort.  Phil yelled out for the net, Christy grabbed the net and brought it towards Phil and I and Christy gave me  the net and I got down on my knees on the bulkhead and netted the fish.  It was all very exciting and I believe that was the only BIG trout that was caught for the day!

Brad also had a big one and was in the process of swinging him up on the bulkhead when line broke just above the hook and the fish got away.  Here's a picture I snapped of Phil giving the BIG fish to the young boy and his mother.

It was all very fun and I recommend this event to anyone wanting to have a great time with some young kids and their families.

Was down setting up rods tonight and we were finished about 7:30.  It sounds like arriving at 7 AM will be a safer bet for getting a decent parking spot and then things should start happening somewhere between 7:30 - 8:00 AM.

See you guys down there!

Sounds like a great event and I'll be there Friday and Saturday.

What do we need to bring?  Pliers, scissors, couple towels to get dirty, shirt we don't mind getting blood on?  What other supplies do we need?

The Fishing Kids Event at Gene Coulon Park will be Saturday the 1st of June at 7 am but we need rod prep folks to be there Friday Night at 6PM for rigging of the rods....Fishing Kids give 700-800 kids the opportunity to have a time to fish, get a rod and reel, a tackle box and a bunch of memories!!!
If you would like to come down please let Jim Know at 425 251-3214 and plan on getting dirty during the event as we have several thousand Trout in a net that you will help the kids catch and they can get nasty!! also a pair of pliers and a towel would be a bonus!!
also you can just let him know by replying right here!!
