I ended up catching two fish from newport on jerkbaits both around 2.5lbs. I struggled all day fishing both deep and shallow. I primarily fished up north near sand point and juanita. I also went into husky bay for a few hours searching for a largemouth. Sorry I left early but I had to attend a wedding and we had to be there earlier than we both expected.

Here's what I know. 8 Boats and 11 members were present. Several of the boaters launced from different launches and did not show up for the lunch at Mercer. Rodney caught a couple smallies with Darryl, his big one coming in at 3-2. Thomas and Dave each caught a nice smallie. Thomas' being the big fish at 4-0. I caught 6 smallies by 10:30am and Christy caught 1. My biggest was 3-1, with a 14lb bag. Then we fished for largies till lunch with no success. I found water as warm as 55.9 degrees, and as cold as 48. In the warmer water there were schools of sticklebacks. We had fun playing with them. Those things are cool when you run your lure thru their swarm, it's fun try it.
I'd like to know how everyone else did. If you were there, chime in and let me know how u did. So I can write an accurate newsletter, and to let fellow club members know too.
I understand there wasn't anywhere to park you're boats, and enjoy lunch if you launched from somewhere else. It's OK
Thanx it was a fun day on the water

I will be there but plan on bringing a backseater.

I plan to be there. I am launching at Newportshores though. I see questions about "bringing" guests. I will gladly take a member of the club out but leave the guest at home.
Not to be mean or rude but its not a guide service that we offer. I also would not take 3 in my boat. This makes for a difficult fishing day and I want to enjoy my time on the water.

I will be there!

I would like to bring a buddy of mine who will be joining the club in the near future if there are enough back seats available so let me know. Thanks and I look forward to hitting a few hogs Saturday.
